NOTE ABOUT “THE ROAD” & WATER TRANSFERS TO THE LODGE

The last 56 kilometers of the road from Tulum to Punta Allen is often in some state of disrepair depending on recent weather patterns and the frequency of maintenance. There is no sugar coating the fact that the road is uncomfortable most of the time. The road is precisely the barrier to entry that ensures Ascension Bay remains a beautiful and pristine fishery. If it were easy to get to, it would surely be ruined.

Weather permitting, all Palometa Club guests enjoy a water based transfer from the beginning of the bumpy road just as you enter the Sian Ka’an down to the lodge. This saves guests 2-3 hours drive time. This is a huge time saver and a comfortable, smooth alternative to taking the long bumpy road all the way to Punta Allen.
