Our 2013-2014 season kicked off on November 1st, and we look forward to another memorable campaign. With any luck, we are on track to catch our 1000th permit this season since opening the doors in 2006!

2014 availability is quickly filling up, but we still do have some prime time space available from January – June, 2014. It is worth mentioning our 2nd Annual Permit Tourney, April 4-11 as well as our 3rd Annual Bonefish Tarpon Trust Tagging Week w/ BTT’s director, Dr. Aaron Adams, May 9-16. We also have a few spots left on a few hosted trips throughout the season including a primetime April week with fly-fishing celebrity photographer, Brian O’Keefe.

GUIDES-SHIRTSWe’d like to offer a sincere thank you to all of last season’s guests, as well as those already on the calendar for next year. The Palometa Club is only as good as our loyal client base, and we could not continue to succeed without the incredible support from so many old friends who return to see us in Punta Allen year after year. Get your name on the calendar soon if you have not already, and check out our website, blog, Facebook page, videos, and off-season newsletter if you are not yet convinced. All of these resources are very informative and accessible from our website or by clicking the links above.

While your family gathers over the holidays, consider migrating south and see our team in the coming months. Our all-star guides and staff and the fertile waters of Bahia Ascension await you.

One lucky guest is likely going to land our 1000th permit this season! Our running total sits at 874 fish, leaving us with 126 permit before this millennial mark is reached.  Depending upon our weather, we expect the 1000th permit to come to hand sometime in April or May. To celebrate this landmark catch, we are offering a FREE trip to return to the Club the following season!

A TRIP TO THE PALOMETA CLUB DOES NOT HAVE TO BE ALL ABOUT PERMIT FISHING!
The Palometa Club has become recognized as the world’s premier lodge for anglers aspiring to catch the most coveted of all saltwater flats species – Permit (Palometa in Spanish). We have a reputation for having the best guide staff on the Yucatan. Our two-guide program (1 to 1 guide: angler ratio) and unique approach to targeting permit is unlike anything you have experienced in the Caribbean.

While the permit fishing program is our brand, Ascension Bay is known as one of the few angling venues on earth with consistent opportunities for a Grand Slam. Bonefish, tarpon, snook, jack crevalle, barracuda, sharks, and many reef species are very much a common occurrence. Our guides are delighted to switch gears from the permit flats to have a go at these other species – both on a fly and with spinning tackle.
