Sample Itinerary

Friday:

Depart home city for Cancun, Mexico (CUN) arriving no later than 2:00PM. Guests are then transferred to Tulum and onward to the Boca Paila Bridge in comfortable air-conditioned vans.  From Boca Paila, the Club will provide a water based transfer to the beach in front of the lodge to avoid the majority of the bumpy road. There is no guided fishing on the arrival day.

Saturday – Thursday:

Fishing Days!
Six full days of fishing Ascension Bay and relaxing at the Palometa Club.

Friday:

After breakfast, guests depart the lodge by boat to the Boca Paila Bridge.  From the bridge, guests are transferred by van back to the airport in Cancun and to the international terminal for the flight to the U.S.

Guests should not schedule return flights from Cancun to depart before 1:00PM.

NOTE ABOUT “THE ROAD” & WATER TRANSFERS TO THE LODGE

The last 56 kilometers of the road from Tulum to Punta Allen is often in some state of disrepair depending on recent weather patterns and the frequency of maintenance.  There is no sugar coating the fact that the road is uncomfortable most of the time.  The road is precisely the barrier to entry that ensures Ascension Bay remains a beautiful and pristine fishery.  If it were easy to get to, it would surely be ruined.

Weather permitting, all Palometa Club guests enjoy a water based transfer from the top of the Boca Paila lagoon down to the lodge.  This saves guests 1.5-2 hours drive time.  This is a huge time saver and a comfortable, smooth alternative to taking the long bumpy road all the way to Punta Allen.
